Vetro sits on Cross Bay Boulevard in Howard Beach, with Jamaica Bay behind it and a marina at the back door. The family behind Russo’s On The Bay runs it.
The private rooms host christenings, communions, sweet sixteens and weddings.
The Russo family
The family’s tradition of hospitality started more than fifty years ago, when Villa Russo opened its doors in Richmond Hill. Frank Russo Sr. believed great food and close attention to detail were the way to take care of people, and he passed that on to his son, Frank Russo Jr., who opened Russo’s On The Bay in 1987.
Vetro came later, next door, and the same events team runs both. Today the dining room shares the building with the Blue Lounge, the Wine Cellar, the Murano Room, the Rooftop and the Waterfront Veranda.
